THE COURSE
To race from a ‘city’ start line (Muscat, Cape Town, Freemantle, Singapore) to a ‘Cape’ finish line, via 5 Capes of Cape Al Hadd (Oman), Cape Agulhas (South Africa), Cape Leeuwin (Australia), Cape Piai (Singapore) and Cape Comorin (India)
Total distance: 16,300 miles / 30,200 km (two-thirds of a traditional round the world race course)
START: 6TH FEBRUARY
DURATION: February to May including stopovers
The course is divided into five legs.
LEG ONE : MUSCAT TO MALDIVES [EQUATOR]
Start line: local Muscat start line
Finish line: line in entrance to Male Lagoon
Distance: 1,400 miles / 2,600 km approx
LEG TWO : MALDIVES TO CAPE TOWN
Start line: line in entrance to Male Lagoon
Finish line: Cape Agulhas
Distance: 4,200 miles / 7,800 km approx
LEG THREE : CAPE TOWN TO FREEMANTLE
Start line: local Cape Town start line
Finish line: Cape Leeuwin
Distance: 4,800 miles / 8,900 km approx
LEG FOUR : FREEMANTLE TO SINGAPORE
Start line: local Freemantle start line
Finish line: Cape Piai
Distance: 2,700 miles / 5,000 km approx
LEG FIVE : SINGAPORE TO MUSCAT
Start line: local Singapore start line via Cape Cormorin
Finish line: Cape Al Hadd
Distance: 3,200 miles / 5,900 km approx
STOPOVER SCHEDULE
Both boats will stop at each stopover port for between 7-14 days for promotional activity. The boats estimated time of arrivals (ETA) are subject to change as the calculations are based on an average boat/wind speeds – if there is less wind, it will take the boats longer to reach their destination!

Muscat: 1st - 6th February

LEG TWO : MALDIVES TO CAPE TOWN
Maldives depart: 16.2.10
Cape Town ETA: 27.2.10 (Majan) 4.3.10 (Musandam)
LEG THREE : CAPE TOWN TO FREEMANTLE
Cape Town depart: 9.3.10
Freemantle ETA: 18.3.10 (Majan) 28.3.10 (Musandam)
LEG FOUR : FREEMANTLE TO SINGAPORE
